First Steps recognises that parents are the first and main carers of their children. Staff must work closely with parents to reach common goals for each child. Staff plan activities to meet individual children’s needs based on recorded observations.

Communication between parents and staff is essential. Any concerns are raised early to ensure they do not develop into problems.

We offer an open door policy. Parents are welcome at any time. Partnerships can be enhanced by parents becoming actively involved with nursery life.
