Reception Team

Aimie

Receptionist

I am currently undergoing a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Architecture at London South Bank University, when I am able to study and work simultaneously.
As I attended all the schools on School Lane, but recently moved out of the area, I have found working at Yateleys to be a great way of staying connected with the local community.
Fun Fact: Ami taught me to swim before I started School!

Ben

Receptionist

I started my fitness journey a few years ago, when I was introduced to the gym. I have loved training ever since and I am always excited to get stronger day by day.
Currently I’m studying sports and activity, and in the future become a fully qualified personal trainer while also specialising in nutrition. Furthermore, working here at Yateleys Health and Fitness, has enabled me to start my career in the fitness industry.

Megan

Receptionist

I am currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at St Mary’s University in Twickenham. I really enjoy working here at Yateley’s Health and Fitness because, I get to meet so many new people and it has enabled me to get some experience in the sporting industry early on in my career. My hobbies are to play football for my University team and I used to be a competitive swimmer too.

Sue

Receptionist

I have lived locally for over 40 years, and have 3 sons and 3 grandchildren. I have recently retired from a career in banking after 30 years of service. I am a very sociable person and love to chat to other people. I love to dance and enjoy all varieties of music. I was also a competitive swimmer when I was younger. I now love to be outside in my garden and seeing my grandchildren.
Currently I am trying to teach myself the piano which is another passion of mine.

Tom

Receptionist

I’ve been working at Yateleys since I was 16 and enjoy a variety of sports such as basketball, tennis and swimming. I’m also a Lifeguard here and enjoy socialising with new members and swimmers. Working at Yateleys has given me valuable insight into fitness and in the future, and I hope to continue working within the health and fitness industry.

Ami

I was born in Athens and came to England after college to study for my degree in English.

I have been working as a gym and class Instructor for quite a long time and absolutely love what I’m doing. I also love motivating and being with people.

Class Coordinator & Class Instructors

Hannah

Class Coordinator & Class Instructor

My journey into fitness started with my love of dancing, a passion I have had since a child.
I began to go to fitness classes as an adult and quickly realised not only did I love participating in group fitness, but that I really wanted to learn how to motivate and inspire other people to enjoy the classes as much as I did. Nearly 20 years later, I have learned many different programmes but currently teach Body Balance, Body Pump and Zumba at Yateleys.
As well as my teaching, I am fortunate to be Group Exercise Co-ordinator at Yateleys. This means I get to work with the best instructors in the area to deliver a fantastic timetable of classes, and also have the opportunity work with our lovely members to help build a true group fitness community.

Christine

Class Instructor

Over the last fifteen years I have gained extensive experience in learning and teaching through various senior leadership roles in higher education while continuously expanding my own learning and developing. I have designed, led and taught many staff development programmes and coached individuals at all levels personally and professionally. I feel privileged to have been part of their extraordinary journeys and to help them in creating a life they want to live. I believe that the combination of yoga, meditation and coaching is a perfect mechanism to develop a solid foundation to transform personally and professionally.

Amie

Class Instructor

I’ve recently joined the Yateley fitness team, who’ve been so welcoming.
I’ve been on such a fitness journey the last 10 years it’s been incredible! I’m extremely passionate about how important exercise is it for your mental health and well-being.
I make my classes as fun as possible so you don’t realise how hard you are working out. My favourite saying is exercise in disguise.
I look forward to welcoming you at Yateleys Health and Fitness and join you guys on your fitness journey.

Becky

Class Instructor

My fitness journey started over 15 years ago, teaching all things studio and gym from aerobics to water aerobics to personal training and many other bits and pieces.
I was encouraged to try Pilates and honestly once I started a Pilates journey there’s just no looking back, I’m a bit of a body and movement geek so I am constantly learning and trying to add to my knowledge base.
I love teaching Pilates as I can see the benefits it has to everyone that comes.

Katie

Class Instructor

I am Katie and there are many strings to my bow but most notable at Yateleys I teach Group Cycle and Pilates.
I love what I do and I hope it shows in my classes where I create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere: everyone is welcome no matter what ability.

Liz

Class Instructor

I have been teaching various types of exercise classes for nearly 25 years! I started attending exercise classes at my local leisure centre when I was just a teenager and thought how I’d really like to be up the front motivating other like minded people.
Exercise for me is a way of life, I couldn’t just not do it as it makes me feel so much better mentally and physically.
About 15 years ago I qualified as a Les Mills instructor. As a Les Mills instructor we have to attend training to stay certified plus learn new choreography every quarter. I am now qualified to teach Les Mills BodyBalance.

Monique

Class Instructor

I’ve been teaching since 2010. I started because my friend was an instructor, it took me a while to pluck up the courage to do the course, as I was really shy.
Best thing I’ve done as it’s made me come out of my shell and every year I’ve been teaching I learn more about fitness.
I’m currently studying to be a PT.
I taught lots of zoom classes during lockdown. I’ve also started weight training in the gym 3 times a week.

Jess

Class Instructor

Hi I’m Jess and I’m thrilled to have joined the team! I teach dance fitness, and you might see me around covering Pilates and Yoga too. A little bit about me; I’m a trained actress and have recently performed on the West End stage. I’m originally from North Wales and in my spare time I enjoy creative writing and baking. Hope to see you working up a sweat in dance aerobics soon!

Richard

Class Instructor

I have been practicing yoga for about 20 years, having taken it up as part of my endurance sport training regime. I realised there is much more to yoga than the physical benefits and teaching is an opportunity to inform and educate people about this wonderful practice.
I am a Yoga Alliance Professionals ‘experienced teacher with over 2000 hours teaching experience and accreditations to teach yoga to sports and to teenagers.
I run the Park Yoga Wokingham initiative, there is simply nothing better than yoga outdoors!
My style of yoga is vinyasa flow, sequenced flowing movement between static and dynamic postures, I also incorporate ashtanga flow and yin into the classes to broaden the experience.
Interesting fact – I was privileged to teach yoga to a 100 Gurkhas, you could say ‘taking coals to Newcastle’, they loved it, as did I!!
Top tip – at a point in your day, think about where your breath is going, if it is into the upper chest, top of the lungs, try a breathing through the nose into the tummy for 5 rounds…. Anyone can do yoga.

Sarah

Class Instructor

Having hated PE and sports when I was younger, I discovered my love of group exercise classes when a work colleague persuaded me to try a Zumba® class during a lunch break. Roll on a few years and I now get to stand at the front and share that love with others. If you are a regular BODYPUMP-er, I look forward to getting to know you better, and if you haven’t tried it I would love to meet you in class soon!

Becky

Class Instructor

Hi, I’m Becky! I teach Group Cycle amd Low-Fu. My super power is my endless energy! I have a zest for life and love adventure and travel. I’ll get you movin’ and groovin’, smiling and sweating in my classes, so come and join me for a workout party soon!

Personal Trainers

You cannot transform your relationship with food, exercise or your body without first changing your mindset.”
As an instructor and coach, I believe that education and mindset change are more empowering than exercise alone and so this is incorporated into everything we do together.
